Environmental and Climate Protection at Folex
Folex is continuously working to reduce resource consumption and emissions across its production operations. At our sites in Germany and Switzerland, we focus on efficient production processes, the responsible use of energy and raw materials, and durable, high-quality products.
Our Transformation Plan
As part of our transformation plan adopted in 2024, we have defined specific measures to further reduce energy consumption and emissions. These include:
- Optimizing coating processes and exhaust air treatment
- Reducing the use of solvents
- Gradually transitioning our vehicle fleet to electric vehicles
- Using district heating to heat our buildings
- Establishing an energy monitoring and management system to enable more detailed CO₂ accounting
Folex aims to reduce CO₂ emissions by 40% by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2045.

Products and Materials
We also explore opportunities to incorporate alternative and recycled raw materials into our product development. One example is Folacoat Pure, a coating plate for offset printing made from a polymer containing a proportion of renewable raw materials and a polyester substrate containing recycled material.
Our goal is to communicate our progress in environmental and climate protection transparently, supported by concrete measures and verifiable data.
You can buy and sell Folex products with a clear conscience. They are manufactured in Switzerland and Germany under very good working conditions and in compliance with high environmental standards – and we are constantly working to make both our production and our products ever more environmentally and climate-friendly.
